Thank you for choosing Kiss My Hairy Paws Dog Grooming! I am committed to giving your dog a safe, comfortable grooming experience while helping you maintain their coat between appointments. To ensure the best results and keep things running smoothly, please take a moment to read and agree to my terms and conditions.

1. Grooming Frequency – Keeping Coats in Good Condition

To avoid matting, discomfort, and unnecessary shaving, regular grooming is essential.
For all Poodle, Bichon, and similar crossbreeds, I strongly recommend grooming every 4 to 8 weeks.
Gaps longer than this often lead to matting, especially with fluffy or curly coats, and may result in the need for a short clip to prevent pain or skin issues.
If you’re unsure of the best grooming schedule for your dog, I am always happy to advise based on coat type and lifestyle.

2. Matting Policy

Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first.
If your dog arrives with mats or tangles, I will assess whether they can be brushed out without causing pain.
In cases of severe matting, I will need to clip the coat short, in line with animal welfare guidelines. This may change your dog’s usual style, but it’s the kindest option.
A dematting fee may apply due to the extra time, tools, and care required.
I do not carry out excessive or painful dematting under any circumstances.

3. Seasonal Shaving & Coat Protection

In colder months, dogs with shaved coats are more vulnerable to the weather. I aim to avoid close clips in winter where possible, but matted coats must be removed regardless of the season for the dog’s well-being.
Regular, timely grooms are the best way to maintain coat length and avoid short shaves.

4. Bookings, Cancellations & No-Shows

Appointments must be pre-booked, and I recommend doing so after each groom to secure your preferred slot.
Please give at least 72hrs notice for cancellations or rescheduling as I need sufficient time to offer that slot to another client, for any cancelation or reschedule less that 72 hours I will have to charge a full groom price.
No-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in a fee or full charge for the missed appointment.

5. Welfare-First Grooming

I am a welfare-first grooming salon. If a dog becomes too stressed, unwell, or aggressive, I may pause or stop the groom in the interest of their well-being.
I work at your dog’s pace and always prioritise a calm, kind experience over perfection.

6. Fleas

An additional charge will be applied to the cost of your groom if a flea or fleas are found on your dog’s body. This will mean extra work for me as well as cancellation of the following appointments, which results in loss of income.

By booking an appointment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

A non-refundable deposit of £20 is required at the time of booking.
