A Calm and Gentle Approach to Dog Grooming

At Kiss My Hairy Paws, grooming is built on trust.

I believe that dogs are family, and they deserve to be treated with patience, kindness, and respect at all times. Grooming should never feel rushed or overwhelming. It should feel safe, calm, and positive.

This belief shapes everything I do.

My Story

My journey into dog grooming began with my own dogs.

I noticed how anxious they became when it was time to be groomed. Watching them feel stressed made me realise how important the right environment and approach truly are. I wanted something better for them, and for other dogs too.

That is when I decided to become a groomer and create a space where dogs could feel relaxed and understood.

Leaving my career as a teacher was not an easy decision, but it allowed me to follow something I truly care about. Today, I have built a calm, quiet salon where dogs can feel safe and owners can feel confident in the care their pets receive.

Working With Nervous and Sensitive Dogs

Some dogs need a little more time, and that is completely okay.

I work at each dog’s pace, allowing them to settle and become comfortable. If a dog needs breaks or a slower approach, I adapt the session to suit them. In some cases, grooming can be split into shorter visits to keep the experience positive.

Building trust takes time, but it is always worth it.

Experience and Ongoing Learning

I hold a Level 3 qualification in dog grooming and have over six years of hands on experience.

Alongside this, I regularly continue my education in areas such as canine health, senior dog care, and breed specific grooming. This ensures your dog is always handled with knowledge, care, and attention to their individual needs.

What Matters Most

What I am most proud of is creating a space where dogs feel safe.

When a dog walks in calmly and leaves relaxed, happy, and comfortable, that is what truly matters. It is not just about the finish, it is about the entire experience.
